Medicaid Expansion Advisory Committee Charter

Purpose

The goal of the committee is to gather feedback on members’ health care and health plan experience. The information shared by this committee will be used to shape and advance quality of care and well-being for members.

Topics discussed at each meeting, including but not limited to:

  • Member perception of personal health
  • Member experience with their providers
  • Health plan rating
  • Social determinants of health/disparities
  • Cultural barriers
  • Wellness resources
  • Performance improvement projects (PIPs)

Membership

The committee is made up of 12 active Medicaid Expansion members with differing demographics. This is to reflect our diverse community.

Applications will be reviewed as received based on active membership. All applicants will be notified if they have or have not been selected to be a part of the committee. Applications may be kept for one year for future consideration.

Each member will attend quarterly meetings for a one-year term. Members must have active Medicaid Expansion health coverage throughout the full year.

For every meeting you attend, you will receive a $15 gift card.

Members must attend at least three of the four quarterly meetings to remain active in the committee.

Meetings

  • Meetings will be held each quarter using a virtual Teams meeting.
  • Members can access the Teams meeting by an internet connection or by phone with a call-in number.
  • BCBSND will send meeting invites at least 14 days before a meeting.
  • The full schedule of meetings will be posted to the committee website by the end of January.
